Shirdi Sai Baba was a fakir who is regarded by Hindu and Muslim devotees as a saint.The birth and place of Sai Baba are wrapped in mystery.Many authors and scholars conclude from various proofs that Baba was born at Pathri village in Parabhani District, Maharashtra State, India.Sri Sai Baba first came to Shirdi in about 1852 A.D. Baba attained Maha Samadhi (the day he decided to leave his mortal body) on 15 October 1918 when he was about eighty years of age.Years after his Maha Samadhi, his spirit still guides his devotees, who are now in millions all over the world.In modern times sai baba is a spritual guru.Thursday is marked by special pujas and darshan of the Sai Baba statue.Baba used to call himself as Servant.

Samadhi Mandir is opened at 5.00 AM as “Utha utha Sakala Jana” a melodious prayer is played on audio cassette. Exactly at 5.15AM Kakad arati begins as a request to Lord Sai to wake up and give His merciful glances to His devotees.At the start of the aarti, a lamp with five wicks is lit.the aarti is a significant part in Sai worship. To the common man, Sai Baba is the living manifestion of the abstract concept of God, from whom he seeks protection, guidance and support. Aarti, accompanied by music.
